Weather in CroatiaThere are three different weather zones in Croatia. All along the coast, the coastal towns and villages benefit from a nice mild Mediterranean climate. In the north of the country the area around the Alps has plenty of snowfalls in the winter months. The interior of the country has moderate rain. On average summers are hot and dry and the winters are mild. In the summertime the average temperature reaches 25 or 26°C. At winter time the temperature and fall to about -2° centigrade. During the late spring and early summer a breeze called the Maestral keeps the coast cool. The Maestral starts at around 9 a.m. increasing until around midday, and dies down in the afternoon. This is useful for travelers who plan to do some sailing while on holiday. If you are traveling to Croatia to do some sunbathing then it's important to note that the place that gets most Sun in Croatia is the island of Hvar. Hvar gets 2715 hours of sun a year. |
